Princess Eureco, wife of Emperor Hirohito’s brother and the oldest member of Japan’s royal family, died at the age of 1 in Tokyo Hospital.
Eureco was born in 1923 and married in 1941 to Prince Mikasa Hirohito’s younger brother and current Emperor Nero’s nephew.
Eureco raised five children and supported research into ancient Near Eastern history. She lived a healthy life as a centenarian before suffering a stroke in pneumonia.
