Queen Elizabeth II welcomed Megan Markle into the royal circle before her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.
Meghan was invited to spend Christmas with the royal family in December 2017, a departure from previous royal fiancees.
She made history in March 2018 when she attended the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey alongside senior members of the royal family.
The Queen’s approval was seen as a sign of Megan’s maturity and readiness to join the royal family. Harry later spoke about Megan’s first Christmas with the royal family, stating it was a huge success.
